Limburg is the only hilly region in the Netherlands, and with its Burgundian lifestyle, the people of Limburg know how to embrace coziness like no other. Moreover, Limburg is the only place in the Netherlands that has a three-country point where the borders of three countries come together.

Cycling

If you're a cycling enthusiast, you'll be delighted in Limburg. Here, you can embark on beautiful bike rides in nature while hardly encountering other people. Additionally, Limburg is home to three National Parks: De Groote Peel, De Maasduinen, and De Meinweg, where scenic cycling routes have been established. For example, you can cycle through the largest river dune area in the Netherlands in Maasduinen or explore the water-rich De Groote Peel.

The Marl Caves

In Limburg, you'll find several caves that you can explore on foot with a guide. You can even ride a mountain bike with guided assistance from ASP Adventure:

In Maastricht, you can also explore the caves on a kick scooter. Using a scooter allows you to access areas not covered in regular tours, as you can cover greater distances more easily:

Castle Gardens

Limburg is home to various old castles that you can visit. Some of these castles also have stunning castle gardens where you can enjoy delightful walks. Sometimes, the gardens are even more impressive than the castles themselves. For instance, the castle garden of Kasteel Vaalsbroek is filled with plants and trees from distant lands, as the wealthy merchant who built this castle collected unique trees and plants. It almost feels like walking in a foreign country. The castle garden in Arcen is also worth a visit, where you might even spot flamingos.

SnowWorld Landgraaf

SnowWorld in Landgraaf is the place where winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy snow all year round. It features as many as five different slopes. So, have a great day of snowboarding or skiing and savor the experience. For those who are not fond of the cold, there is an alternative with the adjacent Adventure Valley, one of Europe's largest climbing parks. Here, you'll find over a kilometer of zip lines, two different climbing routes, and an Alpine Coaster.

Maastricht

When you think of Limburg, Maastricht likely comes to mind almost immediately. This charming city is an ideal destination for a city trip. We highly recommend allocating several days for your visit, as there is so much to see and do. Take a stroll along the fortifications, the old city walls of Maastricht, or go shopping in the various boutiques in the city center. Relax on a terrace at Vrijthof, which many consider the most beautiful square in the Netherlands. You'll also find the country's most beautiful bookstore in Maastricht, namely Boekhandel Dominicanen.

The "Drielandenpunt"

The "Drielandenpunt" (point of three countries) in Vaals is where the borders of Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands converge. With an elevation of 323 meters, it is also the highest point in the Netherlands (known for the flat landscapes). The Drielandenpunt is not only an important symbolic and geographical location, but it also offers plenty of enjoyable sights and attractions.

Other Attractions

There are plenty more attractions to experience in Limburg, such as the Gaia Zoo in Kerkrade, Toverland in Sevenum, MondeVerde in Landgraaf, Recreatiebos Steinerbos in Stein, and many more.
